Sabatical Children

Dilapidated homes
Children all alone
Abandoned by their families
Left withough anything

What kind of place
Allows us this disgrace
How could we be so cold
To leave a child's heart broke?

Going from place to place
Seeing so many strange faces
Feeling unwanted, like a problem
Left with no one to love them

Finally, the can stand
On there own two feet
Only to be shoved down
By an ignorant society

Author notes

I was bored in class, so I got out a thesaurus, and found the word Sabatical, which had the word Abandoned under it's synonyms. I haven't been able to find it in any other dictionary or thesaurus, and I don't remember if it's even spelled right.
Anyway, after seeing that, it reminded me of a book called "The Lost Boy" which was an autobiography of a kid who was severely abused by his mom and then went from foster home to foster home growing up, and he never really felt loved. So I decided to write a song for all the abused, adopted, and foster care kids. It's far from done, but I hope it to turn out inspiring in the end. (which means I still have a lot of work to do. )

  • see now then, that's what I thought, but everywhere I look that just means in something of or relating to the sabbath, which was not the meaning at all.
