The wedding feast is over
The guests have all gone home
To settle by their own firesides
Winter roads no more to roam
They set about preparing
A wondrous Yuletide event
Children making garlands
With plants of pinewood scent
Theres holly, berries and mistletoe
Under that they'll steal a kiss
From some lucky lad as he comes this way
Or perhaps a pretty young Miss
All around the sound of silence
Echoing loud in my ear
Along with the sense of peacefulness
We enjoy at this time of year
The morning comes and with it change
A mantle of white everywhere
As millions of tiny flakes drift down
Falling as snow from the air
The world is suddenly new again
Looking so fresh and bright
The red rosy faces of children at play
Having fun from morning til night
The troubles and traumas belong in the past
Today we are filled with good cheer
Very soon now it will be Christmas day
Not long after we face a New year
Please tell me what you think

Dan, This is a lovely holiday poem, peaceful, happy and a welcome break form the daily grind of every day life. Good imagery and rhyme help this poem to flow well!
Write On!
