Blackberry River

The majority of the

tree's shiver with fear
as the mighty Tahquamenon
flows past, as if an offering
they give her their tree blood
making her the ever-so famous
blackberry river.

The oak is nothing
compared to the might
of the Tahquamenon Falls,

raging blindly over the cliffs

of the Upper Peninsula,

blackberry...

The wind sings her name,

Tahquamenon,

the people sing her cause,

life,

and she sings who she truely is.

She is the Tahquamenon,

mighty river to the north.

She is life,

to those who live around her.

She is the one, and the only,

Blackberry river.
