A Humble Knight's Offering

My fair maiden I have forever loved thee from afar
So now I beg of thee to allow me to be by thy side
Permit me to be thy humble knight in shining armour
To protect you from all who may wish to do you harm

For this world can be harsh on a woman such as thee
Tis filled with men of greed and selfish thoughts
They have no care of those who may be in their path
They trample all in their way as the seek their goal

You are a woman of magnificent grace and beauty
You may not know it but you have captured my heart
Grant me permission to be the champion of your cause
Allow me to protect you from all pain and anguish

This life can be cruel and hurtful to one such as thee
There are those who care not whom they may destroy
Or of how much pain and suffering they may cause
For they are only interested in taking all they want

The exquisiteness of your heart has captivated my soul
So now I ask your consent that I may walk at your side
To banish all those who give you sadness and sorrow
To vanquish all who cause a tear to disturb your face

There are many in this land whose soul is blackened
With hardened heart they fear not any consequences
As their tongue utters dark lies and deceits so readily
To them, all is of use so long as they attain their goal

The true beauty of thy soul reaches out to touch mine
Allow me to offer you my hand as I walk with you
To share with you the truth and happiness in my heart
For in truth I will love you with every part of my being

I beg of thee to allow me to love you for all my days
For in my eyes thou art the most perfect of all women
My heart and soul you have conquered with tender ease
For in truth, all I yearn for is to share my life with thee

I offer you my life for as long as you may desire it
If ever you believe my heart or words prove to be false
You may readily destroy me without a guilty conscience
For if ever deceive you, I deserve neither life or happiness

What did you think
