So I'll sew on this smile,
pretending it doesn't bother me.
Whispers of the truth will fade
pleading the fifth as they depart.
My eyes will tell a fairy tale
ending in happily ever after,
but my heart will tear in two
with just one quick glance.
I thought I had built the fence strong,
protecting my heart from your lines.
But with each smooth word and sexy look,
the wooden pieces collapsed one by one.
And I will continue to put on the front,
acting as though the feelings never existed.
As you continue to pull me closer
with no intent of actually grabbing on.
