What Matters

Drenched with sweat, sickly sweet sweat
her hair sticks to her head,

                                                                frizzed and full
                                                    Her body curves so pleasurably
pale and plump in all the right places,
the arch in her back is a calling like the wolf to the moon
Her lip is so full and quivers slightly
                 her words pull me forward

but all that matters is what stops me

                    The look in her eyes,

                                                  the slight tears

All I want is to cradle her and fix whatever is wrong.
In this moment my world came together,
                                 Everything stopped spinning,
                                                     pointless worries went away
and I knew that I loved her

I knew that her heart mattered more than my life.
