Kindergarten Sweethearts

The sweetest of loves,
Seem to bring a smile to my face.
He was a kind young boy.
Always seemed to want to lean a helping hand.

I might have just been five or so.
But, it seemed to be maybe my first crush,
Or just sweet puppy love.
Our parents awed and cued at us.

We seemed to be the cutest little things.
I remembered being showed pictures of us.
Crushes come and go,
I still remember bits and pieces of our Kindergarten year.

We might have lasted a week as sweethearts.
But we have a forever lasting friendship.
That will never be forgotten.
We might be older now,

But I still remember those cute years.
That time came we took different crushes.
We began another aws and cues at us.
This time by different parents.

  • The ending is a little awkward but the overall theme is good. you need to fix "lean" to "lend" in the fourth line.
