Experience stoops with age;
the weight of burdens taken
anchor him firmly to the ground
a fixture in nature engrained.
His size and solidity are marks
of perseverance challenged
and beckon to those in need
of comfort’s open minded ear.
Respect is his right but care
has sustained the growth of his rings
over centuries of change;
he remains a tree guardian.
Youth seeks his counsel, his calm
acceptance as a sounding board.
In turn he shares his quiet embrace.

I like the way you took this, the solid and yet soft effect of the tree that has stand so many years. A beautiful take here.
Best of luck in the contest.
