Mary girl sings a song
till the days a no longer long
She sleeps in shivers,
but tip toes along sunlight rivers
Giggling like church bells
Mary twirly twirls singing
“Mr. Man made me mad,
he called me pretty,
then tried to make me dead,”
She follows shadows, mimics and mimes,
“ He called me pretty
and pulled a pretty ribbon round my neck”
Birds twitter and follow along
She smiles, hums, and sings her song
“ Oh, Mr. Man Meany made me mad
He pretended to think me pretty,
So I brought a knife to play and made him dead.”
Little miss Mary sings her song
She giggles and dances all day long

Scary
A fantastic piece of poetry, very scary and dark with some great imagery. I doubt I'll get the image of a psycotic little girl out of my mind for sometime now. It's sad then that I cant accept it in my contest as it was a fresh write for a previous contest "Anything Goes!" by Karra-Mayy. It really is a fantastic piece and I wish I could accept it. Feel free to enter a different poem. Good Luck.
