Sagacious Sojourn

Missing image

Dipped in hyperbolic ink,
the mighty thunder of words thrums across bitter parchment;
crisp, rustling leaves are caught up in chaotic wind.

Nestled within the seven vales,
our hearts descend among the stones
that would keep us from traversing this path
if we forget to merely rise.

Autumn's hues are strewn swiftly across the landscape,
garrulous with somber tones of caution,
advising preparation for the arriving chill that would stiffen pale bones
and slow pulsation.

Do we heed these warnings
or forge assuredly into Winter's maw,
unafraid?

We pursue this sagacious sojourn
as though immortal,
suspecting we are not -
a private madness deeply discerned.

Arrogance tucked into rifled pockets,
we perceive humility as the proper course to follow,
our eyes blurred by drifting snow
as we gather fallen wood for the dusky hearth.

In my life I make things happen - sometimes
    I watch while they happen
    always, I am humbled by
    how they happen.

I think this was an amazing and vivid description of an abstract piece of artwork. Astounding choice of vocabulary words such as "garrulous" as well. A great poem overall nicely penned

Such a feast of visual where inferred climates to seasons
actually brought ghost response from skin. I delved into
this piece and did not take a breath. The lines fed me
and anchored securely with sure meaning. If none of the
above seems clear; let me then just say: "Poetry that moves
me to want to be better" Thanks for giving such a gift of words.

I am awed by your superlative words of poetic grandeur. I am out of place with the likes of you, Carol and others of your stature. I am truly humbled by saying so and feeling so.
