Silently Fuming

They eyes of another...
Watching You
Wanting You
You're no longer mine to claim, yet...

Jealousy.

In its most raw form,

Jealousy.

An ever-growing green torment feeding upon my soul.

Jealousy.

And those eyes continue to watch you,
  Almost admiring you
    Almost claiming you
        But mostly wanting you.
The same eyes who only months ago
I could've turned to and looked at in defiance.

Yet now, I can do nothing
but stand here idly,
clutching at my sides,
trying to hold myself together
while the monster inside me rears its ugly head
Slowly tearing away at my heart.

And the eyes
  Always watching you
    Always wanting you
But silently I pray
That they don't claim you.

Author notes

Written after a sudden burst of jealousy...
it's one of my first poems ever. I'd appreciate criticism
