In wonder my blue eyes travelled across your frame,
Listened to the heartbeats I found in your name,
A light laugh filled with joy was finally my own,
My now strong heart settled with you as its home.
Promises travelled miles across a bitter sea,
As my passion longed to finally be free,
To sigh in your strong arms, that’d keep me safe at last,
And dismiss all the hate that this life would cast.
Warm breath to caress and tickle my eager ear,
Hearty laughs and sweet nothings for me to hear.
Loved by a man who hushed my old cynical ways,
Who had me longing after just a few days.
Unique persona and vibrant life hooked my heart,
Charming talent had me smiling at the start.
A soft spirits kiss to comfort me through a night,
Tantalising words that still now I recite.
Broke binds to give me strength to believe once more,
Held onto my hands as my confidence soared.
Darling gaze at the night sky, we share the same moon,
And know that, because of you;
My heart sings a sweeter tune.
