a tree in the neighbor's yard

the sun is like a flashlight
behind a blanket.

the bottom inner leaves are still a
summery pale green,
flecked with yellow.
the yellow spreads outward,
turning into traffic cone orange.
the tree is tipped and crowned
with a fierce shade of pink,
like a tropical fish at the
aquarium.

    Fantastic Imagery!

It started off with a great simile and continued on in that vein throughout. The use of 'traffic cone orange' was brilliant and painted a very clear, descriptive picture. Quality poetry.
