Before I Die

We are the moments that make up eternity,
So many moments to hold in one heart
I haven’t felt this long enough
I don’t want to go away.
Too many moments to ever sleep,
Too many to waste.
I need to love you every day for the rest of all time.
We are the silent mornings
When the sun is the only one awake,
The only one watching.
We are every rainy day, when the clouds are
Weeping for our fates,
We are the only things keeping the sky up,
We are love, and I don’t want to die.
This is all not real
I am not leaving you, you can’t make me
You can’t let go of me
You can’t forget me
Every night I hope you think of me,
And every day I hope you miss me.
I wish I could put this off longer.
I wish I had the strength to fight.
I wish I had more time to tell you
We are eternity, too many moments for one heart
I don’t want to die…
Please don’t forget me.

    We are the silent mornings
When the sun is the only one awake,

    Nice imagery.

Thanks for entering, and good luck in my contest

  • Ms. Badass.

...I decided sometime ago to make sure...
    (grins)

    ...at all costs...
    (snickers)

...to leave only the most entertaining comments on your page.
...to ensure that ONLY the highest of quality retorts are offered,
laden with my rich brand of slapstick smart-assery.

    but again...
    (folds his blasphemous arms)

    ...thwarted.

"We are every rainy day, when the clouds are
weeping for our fates" -profoundly written.

    (sighs; with some gravity)

...how could anyone read this composition and not be touched
    quite defenselessly?
(scrunches up his new recipe and tosses it aside)

    Jaime.

    ...well done, kiddo.
...it is better to have loved and lost and yadda, yadda.
    ...terra paxa.
    ...requiem.

    I actually understand, my friend.
    ...it doesn't get easier.

    Bad news.
    ...I know.

Keep on keep'n on, Lady Badass.
    ...buy some boots.
    (grins and winks at her)

    ...stand tall.

    Wow, this is great!

For one hand, you show us what "we are"; in the other hand, it tells what "you wish"

I found it really interesting, diferent from what I've already read and I can relate with your words, because I also wish not to be forgotten, and I also think that we have too much wonderful things to safely keep in our memories...

"We are the moments that make up eternity,
So many moments to hold in one heart" - I totally agreed with this.

Great work and good luck in the contest!

Heart wrenching. You draw us in with the depth of the love and then break our hearts with the ultimate sorrow of impending death.

    Nice!

Hey first thanks for entering my contest and the best of luck to you. Now for the poem I really liked it, I really can see the pain that love has put on this person, yet the will to carry on seems to still flutter in the heart which is awesome!, you really did do a great job on this. I thank you again for entering and for being the first poem, good luck!
