Elegy to past fearlessness

As a child i despised these cowardly survivors.

Hiding beneath the silken sheets nestled within a soft female flesh.

A little too portly and well fed for my youthful tastes.

Trembling with fright as their sub-standard sloping shoulders wriggle free

From trouble like some lithe serpent made human.

Bravery died the night i began to understand those men.

What did you think

this is something of a draw for me

two images of meaning are struggling to win out. I think the image is of a child birth. The despising cowardly survivors could refer to a contempt for humanity, and of unfit parents. The second thought is of a child, or even a husband, that clings to a woman in fear for living their own life- going out on their own. I like that this made me think bro.

    Outstanding !

    This is superb!
The man who says he's never afraid
    is a liar.
Is this a newer one?...i did not notice...
    Smooth entrance to this...
    almost spoken matter of fact...
like ...yes...this is something i have come to know ..to realize..
almost a disappointment of the infallible dream...
    that survival will take over....
and that going down with the ship is only for captains and suckers...
Just a great, great write of the many human epiphany's.....

    Fantastic,
    Liam
