Spirit connecting with spirit; with afterlife,
the cosmic, ideals, values, hopes, and universal truths;
placing lost and found in the thick of things.
Balance secretly given to my peaceful continuation.
If a scalpel had a soul, slicing would be my eternal source,
unable to bleed without flesh as its armor.
Prudence, its infinite term in all activity.
Cool and blown with winds of prerogative,
immortal and immaterial essence
of life and death in breaths of reality.
I am transcendent; bathed in aliveness.
Separate from the body;
eternal living being,
distinct from the physical,
interchangeable with life forces.
Roaming hither and yon,
metaphysical and religiously bound,
I search within to see myself,
and Creator’s purpose for my existence.
My soul slumbers while limbs are active
but while asleep it finds paths of its own—
in unconscious dreams and fantasy of resurrected heart.
Logos, Thymos, and Eros gathering together for folly’s sake…
Author notes
p o e t r y a l i t y
1. Logos or the mind
2. Thymos or the emotions
3. Eros or desire
In ancient Vedic thought, the individual soul was symbolized by fire.

Congratulations!
This write is just so lovely and true.
Your words script vivid pictures for me and they come together so well; this is such an honest and noble persona of Soul.
Especially the very last line, where you describe the one truth that is so hard for most people to believe since they feel they embody their own mind, emotions and desires.
I am so happy that you entered this and I am blessed to have such an insightful poet take part in my contest!
Congratulations my friend; you, without a doubt in my mind, have earned gold!
Thank you so much for entering!

The questions we find in our search for answers. This dance of individual recognition, yet a dance with many participating. How quickly you come to terms with flesh and mind and the constant eloquent arguments they come to debate.
How like you to find the spirit rises above the material and yet is made visible by being part of this world. Then your understanding of the energy we bring to interact, react and create.
Love,
Tom B.

Damn! 'scuse the language but this poem is just plain awesome!
Soul is your personal reality and is bound to you.
Very, very well said. -
The concept of Soul. Quite a feat but have you ever found a path.
I can read these stanzas in order, or out of order, it matters not as they fall as wholes among themselves, each a piece of the entire.
I was there and I understood. So very well done.

I enjoyed this musing. I think that connectedness makes us all more important than we realise...
"and Creator’s puropose for my existence." got an extra 'o' in there!

Fixed! Thanks for seeing that and the inspiring comment.
Love You ♥

This gives us the flavor of what a soul is, something that's really indescribable. Your talent with words shine. The last stanza is great! 'The soul slumbers ... Logos, Thymos, and Eros gathering together for folly’s sake… '. Lot's of insight here.

great imaginary, great words well done

Thank you! I corrected that! It is good to have two sets of eyes sometimes.

The imagery. WOOOOOOOW. Amazing

-
Sorry...I don't know why it didn't give the clappies.

I like your spirituality and the odd thing is, I am well aware of the words you emphasize. I tend to resort to feeling like once I am dead I will turn into fertilizer
Even though I know the Biblical sense well.
-
-
Yes, we do become "fertilizer" but is that not food for the Earth and its inhabitants? Yes, that makes us worthy from the dirt to the dirt! Yes, Biblical! Thank you for the added thought!
