It matters not how far I may travel
I have seen the palaces of the gods
The eternal tombs of the Pharaohs
In a dry and sometimes hostile land
I have cried for those who have died
On distant fields of bloody battles
Walked the paths of ancient troops
Who died fighting for their freedom
Travelled on boats past historic lands
Past ancient yet busy towns and vills
Seen the dark ruins of stone sentinals
Standing silent over verdant fields
Climbed to peaks eternally in snow
Buffetted by winds so icey cold
While far below I gazed on valleys
Peaceful and serene in the distance
Crossed the oceans to idylic islands
Resting peacefully in emerald waters
Walked among the friendly people
While maidens dance in the firelight
Warm evenings breezes often carry
That lingering sound of a didgeridoo
While voices muted by distance sing
Yet forever softly calling me home
