Sandstone angels watch over me,
as I sleep eternal sleep
Under ground from where I came
Carved gargoyles proclaim my name
A distant thought, a memory
A passing chapter of history
A faceless man anong the masses
Only few, shall mourn my passing
Flowers adorn my place of stasis
A mockery of life, created
A gift for me, but don't they realise
Like me, flowers die

Nicely penned piece my friend. I wish writing like this came more easily to me.

haunting once again, makes me think of a soul that is stuck in the grave with it's body or a man buried alive but so how seeing everything that is done over him, keep it flowing

This is an incredible piece. The way you used the vocabulary to make me read it in that certain way just completely went with the poem. The tone is really calm and hypnotic which I love but it has a subtle hint of sadness embedded into it which I love even more. My favourite line is 'A distant thought, a memory', I’m not sure why but I guess it is sometimes how I feel I am to the world and to others. I can really relate to this poem and I love that. Really well done... it is an amazing write
P.S. I know this comments really long but I'm in one of those moods

beautiful
some might say this is sad, but its reality
it may have a somber tone though the message is clear not everyone notices the passing of one but only those close to them i love the way this worked out. great writing love, truly

hmmm... short and kinda sweet?

YOu paint a picture of someone kneeling over your gravestone with this... at least in my mind that's the picture I saw.

I like this, especially the line: [Flowers adorn my place of stasis] It's beautiful and dark, eerie yet almost soothing.

Interesting
Its amazing where thoughts spring into our heads and off we go...
Its sad, it seeks, its voiced, and I got a tinge of a shiver
as history of a church tells its story in the creatures that adorn the walls
Best wishes
Julie
