Behind Every Beautiful Thing

Behind every beautiful thing
there is some kind of pain.
She knows this very well
as she cut, cuts at her vein.
A razor she uses to gain control
she's unsatisfied with the life she leads.
To release her agony is the goal
so she slices, until crimson bleeds.

Her distress will be released
with her carmine blood.
The razor engrafts her porcelain skin
as she slowly drowns in her self induced flood.
She removes the razor
and notices the large divide.
With the loss of blood shes just suffered
she is lucky to be alive.

She releases her strong grasp on the razor
and lets it fall to the floor.
The criss cross slices on her arm
have become her own decor.
These scars won't ever fade
to deep, to much blood has been drained.

She knows very well as she cut, cuts at her vein
behind every beautiful thing, there is some kind of pain.

Author notes

I saw the quote "Behind every beautiful thing there is some kind of pain." On starving4Perfections page and I thought it was both inspiring and true. This isn't finished yet, but I'll be finishing it tomorrow.
