Something about Me.

Missing image
What is you favorite verb?  Verb turned act: to love.

Where did your name come from? Named after my mother's sister:  Myra Magdalena, as written by God in the Book of Life.  Spiritually I link my name to Myra, the little town in Turkey, where Paul got his boat replacement. It is also the town of St Nicolas. I see myself as the carrier of Myrrh, the healing and soothing ointment of purification, and also one of the gifts by the Wise Men for of our Jesus, the Christ, at his birth in Bethlehem.

What is the difference(s) between who you are and who you wish you were? I am who I wish to be.

What are your insecurities? I have none.

Why can't you sleep? I sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow! I love to sleep -- it is a beautiful way to travel and to rest in dream realities. I love to dream and ask for divine dreams, which God gives to me. I write them down, mostly, as soon as I wake, lest I forget them.

Is your regret fading? I have no regrets. My life's story is sorrow-filled, but also joyous. I am thankful for every day and every experience to grow toward understanding on my way Home.

How conditional are your morals? My morals are written on my heart since before my birth.

What do you say to yourself that makes it alright? I see "alright" in every single experience. Both good and bad I take with gratitude, by the grace of God and with His guidance.

Are you in love? Yes.

Are you in love with more than one person? No.

How often do you want to be someone else? Never. I am happy to be me, although I am sometimes a bore and predictable! GRIN

Can you wink? No. Only virtually.

Do you flirt with guys/girls you would never date? No. But I do love playfulness in a permanent relationship.

Are you currently leading someone on? No.

Do you lie about trivial things just for the hell of it? No -- I know some people do (my best friend admits to that!) and I find it totally unnecessary.

Do you believe in karma? I believe in God's divine Love linking all those of the Light and the power thereof.

Do humans have souls? Yes -- even those acting soulless.

Are there people in your family you secretly don't love? None. Respect, of course, is another matter ... I am working on that. I do respect people for who they are, but I find it hard to accept abusive behavior of any kind. Actually, I shall give my life to prevent that. This is the one thing that truly angers me.

Are you jealous? No. But I do not tolerate unfaithfulness. A cheater cannot be trusted on many levels.

Do you avoid looking in mirrors? I never look in mirrors -- only when I apply make-up.  I even comb my hair without looking in the mirror. GRIN I do however, look in the mirrors people hold up to me. It helps me to love them better. But I love to take photos of me for I am the only one tolerant of my photography obsession and I find it fascinating to see how I grow older!

What is a name you consider beautiful? All names are beautiful to me. I love looking up the meanings of names. The most beautiful name of all, for me as a Believer, is JESUS.

Do you read to escape your own life? No, I rarely read but I read the Bible and poetry daily, and often biographies or books on art and magazines and the local papers. I wish to read more, but I am too busy helping others to write their souls.

Do you ever forget who you are? No. For being who I am determines every choice I make from second to second.

Author notes

I rarely like to fill out questionnaires, but this one is to the point and neat.

You've obviously, built your house upon the "Rock" and your faith has made you the "whole" person God intended us all to be. God be with you, my friend, always.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long

My grandparents were my idea of true Christians, although I never knew them to go to church except for weddings and funerals. They loved Jesus, were tolerant of others, cleaned and cooked ritually, felt pity and helped out those in need, and never once preached to me, but told me what they thought and only expected me to consider it, and then allowed me to think for myself.
I think there would be more Christians in the world if people lived their faith instead of going on about it all of the time. Faith isn't desperate truth. Faith is your power. Share it with others, but don't force it on them.
I don't understand how people get this wrong so often.
Anyhow...sorry for the editorial. Good to know more about you Myra. You remind me of my grandparents in many good ways.

I love and often I am hated for it. God never promised us moonshine and roses. If life treats me badly, I give it to God. To fight darkness is futile; only God can do it for me, for in myself I am powerless, but in Him I soar. Thank you, Wayne, for accepting me for who I am. You are from your grandparents and from your Creator. I see it clearly.
