Slow Dance Into Dawn



for a little while
you move past
worried nights
of thinking too hard
and sleeping too little

past haunting memories
of moments
long forgotten
and hopefully forgiven

beyond shadows
of light and dark

beyond nuances
of poems and promises

lifting your sleeping head
to hear the mournful music
that coaxes us from our beds
you search for the source
of the melancholy magic

discovering secrets
swaying in the stars

a glance
a hand to hold
a whisper in your heart

for a little while
time with all of
its aching beauty
                        pauses
                                    as you and I
                                                      slow dance into dawn

    A real gem as it twnkles and glistens with lines like.....past haunting memories
    of moments
    long forgotten
    and hopefully forgiven...these are truly poetic words..Also loved these lines even more....

    This speaks to me as I often feel very sad when I awake and do seem to hear melancholy music then,,,,,you re able to use words honestly and glowingly and make me smile and cry....
