Energy and Love

Like cool water, let it rush over me,
wetting thirsty skin and dampening hair with a pleasant weight that is at once a relief and a release.

Like fire, let it burn my face with heat,
a sun that has reflected off life and brought warmth to my body that remains after the actual light has stopped.

Like air, let it blow and fly,
increasing as a sudden windstorm, and floating like a gentle breeze that is ultimately timely and welcome.

Like the earth, let it be under and over me,
here before me and also ever after, a beginning that I was born through and belong to, a part of me that I discovered very late but will keep always.

    I don't think I've read a poem that uses the elements like this It is unique, strong and deeply intriguing with the imagery from the ink

    I enjoy how each stanza begins with "Like ...", wonderful poem
