Daydreams……..a Non-Entry.
We strolled along the warm, white sand
beside the lapping sea.
She took me gently by the hand,
with words of love to me.
We lay beneath the swaying palms
and watched the clouds roll by
entwined in one another’s arms
beneath a tropic sky.
Her golden locks dispelled the night
her lips were luscious red
her shapely breasts and figure might
turn any manly head.
But, most of all, her lustrous eyes
reflecting skies azure;
wide-open now in sweet surprise -
invincible allure.
.
In such idyllic circumstance,
quite free from stress or pain,
We felt no more the years’ advance
for we were young again.
Wrapt in her soft and loving arms,
the world far off did seem
but age dispels such fancied charms
and now I only dream…….
Yet I’ll remember all my life
those days in Hawaii with my wife.

Oh, this is such a sweet memory to relive via a daydream.
Tenderness and romance radiate from this lovely heartwarming piece, King Hugh.

Dear Hugh,
I don't know how (woman's intuition?) but I suspected you were writing about your wife.
Very romantic poem..a sweet memory to treasure for the rest of your life!
Love and hugs,
♥ Maureen

Dear Babe,
Oh how grand this poem is of the trip both you and Edna had in Hawaii, Edna is beautiful now so she must have been stunning when she was young.
A very magnificent poem dear Babe.

Beautiful memories indeed and now captured forever in a poem.
I have never travelled the world my memories are much closer to home, but the source doesn't really matter it's being with the person you love and making memories together.

-
I love this poem very much
Dear Hugh,
What wonderful memories you have of your life when you and Edna traveled the world.
This is magnificent my dear friend, it's wonderful to be able to look back on good time spent. It's good to see your brain is coming alive again and hopefully we''ll see more brilliant poems like this one my dear friend.
Love Bea

To daydream of unforgetable past moments, experiences, can truely be the best of daydreams for we know they can be real, something to really while away those special moments of remembering.
This is a lovely poem, Hugh

Ah, what a sweet save in the last two lines
as your dreaming might lead the unaware reader
to believe you were wandering astray in your
beautifully descibed daydream!!!
A wondrous word picture, Hugh!

beautiful images
No wonder you remember, this is unforgettable. You are lucky to have such great memories with your wife, and still have your wife to share them with. I like your choice of form as always, this could be a song with the right tune. Thanks for bringing this dream to the group contest.
