see my boss had this way of driving my life hell.
i mean i never met a woman who took so much pride
in bringing another one misery.
she'd send me emails at two- o'clock in the morning
when every other living soul was asleep
just to warn me i was on strike 2, or strike 3.
like seriously, fuck you and your strikes.
-
I had dreams of going into her office and headbuttin
her. dreams of me sticking wet pieces of paper down her dusty ears.
but as much as this lady was annoying,
i valued my job. it bought me everything in my closet,
and my ego has always been a little to big
to go off living on my parents income again.
see they expect that from you,
and I hate satisfying others.
-
i remember the day like it was no other.
i was on strike 4 and one more and I was out.
i walked into her office
ready to cuss her out because i was getting fed up.
but there she was, sound asleep,
mouth open, spit drooling all over her desk.
-
i reported her ass to her boss,
with no hesitation.
even paid for a blimp saying,
' BYE LISA. '

Fun and Interesting
Yep, this little gem was fun and interesting (maybe a little satisfying too). I guess we've all had some kind of similar experience, and daydreamed about a little getting back. And when I saw the prompt that stimulated you to create this, I thought - haha! - that's a very good idea, actually. This was very human, not so traditional, but it sure qualifies as poetry because the feeling came across well, I felt the anger and I could picture the frustration, etc. I really noticed, "See they expect that of you and I hate satisfying others.." We can all relate to that conflicting feeling, and it really went well with the whole poem...however, I bet you do a lot of "satisfying others" really - with your writing! I didn't really feel like trying to find any little criticisms or technical falults, like a misspelling or rhythm or stanza, etc., because actually I liked your arrangement and it kept the feeling flowing by you doing it just the way you did...and you did what was important and got the whole picture across very effectively. Great job! Keep writing!

Is her name Ms... well... never mind. LOL I have had several bosses who behaved in this manner. I think they do this because they are boss and they know we desperately need our jobs, especially these days. I think people like this have no life and get their fondest joy from making others suffer because they choose to. Your poem made me smile but it also made me cringe. I hope you have found another jib that really encourages your strengths. Good luck to you in the contest.
Much Love ♥

I believe I worked
For this woman. Bravo! Your poem is well written and relatable. I actually quit the job I had like this I still wish I could have rented a blimp!
Nice job! -
LMAO! Oh what a great way to get back at your boss! Sorry that you had to go through this. It sucks but, I think that at one time or another in our lives we have all experienced this on the job. If it's not your boss it's your co-workers and that can make things a whole lot worse. I hope that your working days ahead are filled with more tranquility and endless friendships! Take care, good luck to you, and thanks a lot for sharing this here!
