In a satin night by the firelight
I kissed my love, my wild winged dove
As he lay at my feet and murmured sweet
I smoothed his hair and whispered there
Oh gentle lover Make me a mother
That our love through seasons may go on
When you and I are lost and gone

Short succinct poem, highly romantical with an absolutely superb opening line:
"In a satin night by the firelight..."
I really wish I'd penned that!! loved it!

Beautifully melodic
I love to read fantasy books, you know dragons and wizards, magic and other times and worlds this poem reminded me of one of those stories when the gleemen or bards sing there love songs, there's a whole story in just those few lines. simply beautiful thank you TB.x

I do so love that kind of poetry! A large number of my poems are legend or fantasy led. This one was a romantic little verse for my (then) brand new hubby! It came from that sweet serene feeling you get when you know your love is requited.
Thank you for your lovely words.
