you say you want a revolution
a revolution at no cost
change for free, just as you please
you want a revolution
you're calling for a revolution
by bureaucrats and know-it-alls
anything that will bring change
for everyone - 'cept you
as long as it ain't got to do
wit' your daily grind
as long as you can listen to
the void inside your mind
you say you want a revolution
but your mouth is firmly shut
sitting in your comfy chair
you sure as death ain't goin' nowhere
'cause ignorance is bliss

So true, the last line especially brings the final bitterness in this poem. =)

Hear hear! More people need to read this and I wish more people thought this way instead of staying ignorant. Hey, when a government is big enough to give you everything, it is big enough to take everything away! Excellent write and thank you for sharing!

every word expressed is so true. A fabulous poem, very cutting and spot on !

So here's to the Revolution
the victory has been won
time to do as you're told
now that freedom's come ?
if it doesn't fit
there's always the recycle bin Annie.... Best Wishes....George
