My Prayer

Missing image
Grant me faith to carry on

Inspite of what lies beyond

I leave my future in your hand

Your way, the perfect

 I'm drawn to look within

To veiw the mortal man of sin

In weariness my soul awakes

Therein my sinful traits

My prayer's tainted black by sin

an empty vessel in thy hands

O man of God come out of her

"Christ say's I am the way I'm the cure"

My prayer my strength falls to the dust

While spirit struggles against the lust

Only when revealed your holiness

The natural man I must mistrust

Abba Father am I not your kin

One born from the womb of sin

So worldly tho I come to be

May Thy mercies fall on me

My prayer shut not the door above

As I flee to my first love

Open the gates and I shall go in

Grant repentance for my sin

Bless my heart with spirit desire

Quicken me with spirit fire

Bless my tongue with words of life

As I live in the Light

My prayer, let not one word fall to dust

In Thee o God I place my trust

May you fill within this empty vessel

Thy good spirit against my flesh to wrestle

You have written a beautiful poem here that I found genuinely affecting. It reads as though it is from the bottom of your heart.

I can see you have poured a lot of your soul and your time into this so I would rather IM you with my thoughts on what I think this poem could use regarding improvement.

A very genuine and honest poem, well done.
