I.
Pinned to stone like mermaid call,
an ache echoed within an ocean’s arc;
a sacred scene of rise and fall, lick and quick
frenzy to own sand and shore and lay its litter down~
she is visionary in her knowing which ship to beckon
to circumnavigate up-croppings and outcroppings
that only the bravest will manage, and only the courageous
can crash land at to kiss her feet ~ for it is all she offers
no matter how the sea builds up its testimony
that lust is the length and breadth of all there is
II.
She would, if she could, fling
herself, madly, into mileu of mad ebb and flow
but for reasons: She enjoys frothy foreplay
and despises the let down after ebb
that makes her weak and weep
after being anima to his angst,
vessel of his fantasy that stone can be turned to dust,
weak enough to be completely
taken over by such force of nature
III.
Men have long carved globular breasts
on rock, on masts, on cave’s rivers of stone.
No hand has touched me so, as yours;
and I become quick silver to thrust and parry,
become clay and malleable, hiss and spit
as Medusa, and siren’s song you play
with fingertips on bone and breast and body parts
that have not sung such song for eons.
I am your good fortune at end of rough voyages,
marble statue turned buttery in morning’s arrival,
a marker for the lost and found.
For those lost at sea, I am that call in the night
that never ceases until her missing love
returns to kiss cold skin alive.

"for it is all she offers
no matter how the sea builds up its testimony
that lust is the length and breadth of all there is" ... breathtaking lines!
as Medusa, and siren’s song you play
with fingertips on bone and breast and body parts
that have not sung such song for eons. ... These were powerful lines, and I loved the mythology.A stunning piece, Carol.

Standards of excellence above all others in words and images.

Very nicely done "slightly sensual" piece here.
A wonderful take on the prompt with great alliteration and imagery. Best of luck to you in the contest... Scott

I always choke first, then crack up laughing, every time you put something on your "SLIGHTLY sensual" list, Scribe. There is nothing "slight" - of hand or anything else - on any of them.
That being said, this is a gorgeous response to the prompt, my Friend. Indeed, I knew I'd find you here, too. Good luck in Ann's contest, Sweetie.
