Mother Nature's angels minister to this new day
lifting that cloak to her precious bouquet.
That soft chill in the air makes me shiver with delight,
in a world that's regaled in purity's white.
Peace floats through this place that these angels protect,
as all sits in harmony and all earth connects.
A banner of tranquility laid here on each eve,
where nights full of love universal do weave.
Then as morning's light filters through o'er the fields,
the beauty of earth is so slowly revealed.
Each corner an angel, lifts night's perfect veil,
mother nature's displayed on a truly grand scale.
And way in the distance you can hear children laugh
and the groan of the cow as she births her new calf.
It's a wintry day and we're all rugged up warm
as we grace this fine day, watching nature transform.
From inside we'll gaze as that cold mist moves higher
thanking our lucky stars we can sit by the fire.
Then after huge lashings of bacon and eggs,
we'll hang out the washing with mum's wooden pegs.
We'll all do out best to see this winter day through,
a sky that is cloudy with loads of soft blue.
When night starts to fall then those angels are near
to cloak earth once more across nature's frontier.

Wonderful imagery, I can feel the cold air, and smell that lovely bacon! Then there's the sense of the land itself, and its protective spirits. Congratulations.

Mate, you certainly drew on all of nature's fineries to put this most sepctacular piece together. Just astonishing how you gave this piece with every word a feeling of wonder. I would definately love to settle here in your image and take to with that crispy bacon and eggs. You made me feel the cold and the warm and the verse about hanging out the washing with mum's old wooden pegs...well, that really brought it home. Excellent rhyme and rhhythm and the flow was just right. I wish you the very best in the contest although in my view, you have a definate winner here.
