and her emotions plummet
like temperatures
in the february sun
warm respite experienced
december bluejays
greedy early morning thieves
of sunflower seed
so much can be said in terms
of vernal hope contained therein

Very good work, Carol. With winter looming and so large, it is difficult even for the most brazen to not feel the implied restrictions. Still, the work is reflective and comforting, and that too is what the art is about. To write it is to live it, in so many ways...
