Unraveling

The cold air sweeps across the land
I feel life around me perish
as the wounded sun shines no longer
I know my sands have run out

In these halls lie the portraits
Of all the journeys I lived
Of all the dreams I had
The people that I called my friends
My family, are all replaced
Only marble slabs remain of them

I’m unraveling
In these last moments
I’m losing the fight
For soon the Earth will bear me
With a warm embrace
As I laugh with dying grace

What did you think
