Let me drink away the sorrow.
Let me drink away the pain.
Let me pretend this life
has not been lived in vain.
A nice bottle of vodka
some cranberry to make it pink,
but not nearly as deluded
as you'd want to think.
I swear I'm not drunk.
Tipsy, I'll confess,
but you don't want me sober
or I'll be a mess.
Let me sip my midnight bottle
and pass out here on the floor.
I'll drink away the memory
of you walking out the door.
I'll never forgive you for what you took.
My virtue and my pride.
You stole my virginity
killing me deep inside.
You walked across this threshold
without remorse and pain,
but I find myself fighting
to merely stay sane.
So I'll sit here chugging liquor
to erase that haunting day.
I'll drink away the memory
of what you stole away.

vividly interesting;
I was enjoying the stark imagery in
this piece and then the raw power
at the end shut me up and slapped
me silly; excellent
best of luck
