Where Did Halloween Go.

Its halloween night,
And I see no fright?
When did halloween become such a bore.
It once full of scares and dares.

Though teenagers got a hold of the night,
And everything went to hell.
I might be young, but I'm not stupid.
I don't go throwing eggs, at peoples cars,
Houses, toilet papering peoples houses.
I never saw that as fun.

Once a year I sit with the scanner on.
Listening to all this idiot children that I know,
I call them children, because that's how they are,
Acting, like they think its fun,

The next day to watch the people having to clean it off.
When did throwing smelly old baloney become such a fad,
On Halloween night.
This night has turned into a night of thrives.

Its a night to celebrate the dead, and to scare away the dead.
Whatever you do, whether if be scaring them away of evoking the spirits.
It's not the same as it once was.
Halloween is no longer really a night of frights.

No one celebrates this night as like they once did.
Where's the frighting stuff that once was out to scare people.
No one seems to care about this night, like they once did.
I see some of these people, that dress up.

Now days on halloween its somewhat became a night,
Where it's okay to look like some slut or whore,
And no one can say much of a thing,
Since they say its their "Costume."

And people say "Oh, alright."
When really those people dress like that all year long.
Trying to pass it off as a costume.
It sickens me to think that this holiday has,

Just when to the crapper.
Someone needs to put the fright,
Back into the night of Halloween.
All these people just smile and give out candy.

Where's the scariness to that,
Your surppose to also frighten little kids,
Make them see what Halloween is really about.
Don't tone it down, just because your afraid of scaring them.

Isn't that part of the fun,
Making them see the true meaning of halloween.
I just don't see where the spirit of this night has gone.
It seems to floated up there along with Christmas.

Personally, I don't want anyone scaring the little ones who come to my house for a treat. It's ok to play prank and scare those old enought who can understand the fun of it, but those little ones do not need to suffer with night terrors. I did get spooked one time when I took my son trick or treating. He got so scared, he locked himself in the car, and I nearly dropped in my tracks when a scarecrow with a pumpkin head came up behind me in the dark and tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to see a dark grinning pumpkin right in my face, which I'm sure was nearly bloodless by the time my knees recuperated from the encounter. I thought they were going to have to scrape me off the sidewalk!
