Wisdom whispers
to the willing ear,
and revelation
splits the dark
with light,
as a braver dawn is born.

Interesting write ...
although it doesn't seem to be your style of writing at all. I suppose that's because it's a contest asking for a specific form.
Anyway, it's a good job, and I do like the alliteration in the first lines.

I like the w-based alliteration of the opening line, carrying forth into the second. The image of darkness being split with the light of revelation, as if the light were a blade of the braver dawn you present ... is a nice touch too.
A concise, nicely crafted piece, capturing a moment of solitude in the death of midnight's hour.

You've alliterated this piece in such an endearing way, Scribe - you know I'm fond of the "device". Ahhh, to split the shadows with light is such a grand thing to accomplish. Good luck in the contest, Sweetie.
