My Center and My Source

As the spokes on the wheel connect at the hub
and the planets rotate about the sun.

As the fountains of the earth feed the streams
and the air fills our lungs with breath.

As the sun gives us light by day
and the moon reflects its rays at night.

Life requires of it a center.

A hub for its wheel,
a sun for its orbit,
a fountain for its streams,
air for its breath,
light for its days
and a moon for its night.

A purpose, a passion, a meaning for it all.

The Life of Christ has become for me...

my hub,
my sun,
my fountain,

the air that I breathe,
the the light for my day
and my illumnation at night.

Without Him as my center...

I wobble down cold streets thirsting for truth,
gasp for breath in an overcast haze
and search for direction in the dark of night.

He is my Source.

Author notes

Prompt: I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen:
not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
-- C.S. Lewis

    Well done, dear poet!

You paint the truth so wonderfully well, dear poet! I can feel the spirit in your words. You have scribed a wonderful portrait of your testimony. I'm not fond of the "listing", but that's just a small thing; a personal nitpick

    Beautiful!

    God bless,
    Zach Estel.

    Straight to the heart!

I love this write. The poet expresses her origin so well. He is indeed "The Vine" with deep roots, and we the branches. He is the Sun and she is the moon reflecting the light shone on her to planet earth. She, like Galilei Galileo, understands that our world is NOT the center of the Universe.

    Well structured with great imagery.
