Rescue?

Missing image

At first I thought that I'd survive without someone to hold,
I知 very independent and I never feel the cold,
I知 not afraid of terror and I知 really rather bold,
but if it has eight legs ... keep it at bay!

I知 sure I壇 not go hungry, for I壇 find a way to fish,
collect some of the sweetest fruits upon a seashell dish
and in the evening round the fire I壇 make a single wish,
that if it has eight legs ... drive it away!

And should a boat comes sailing by and see my beacon lit,
I think a rescue would be nice, the island I would quit,
into a manly crew of four, I know that I would fit,
with eight tanned legs between them ... I would stay!

Now, if you were in civilization that means you would have at least two to replace the toilet paper, they might be able to get that done between the two of them, and between them they could put the lid down. You would have to make one a slave to put the socks in the hamper. lol! I myself am not too fond of arachnids.

Great luck in the contest! Loved your poem.

Many thanks for your comment ... I did think that maybe 4 men maybe too many, but I'm sure I could find a use for all of them

    Lovely, Sue!
Impressive, the way you put something personal (for fiction read seemingly personal) into your response to that prompt.
    Great read.
    Good luck in the contest.

Many thanks Tom ... the only personal thing about that ... I hate spiders!!!!!!
As to the rest of it, I think four men may be a bit excessive but I'm not sure I would survive on my own although I'd give it a good try!

Many thanks Amera ... just a bit of fun, I'm not sure I would survive, but I'd have a good try, made even better with someone to look after me

As always, highly entertaining. I don't know if y'all have the equivalent of the TV show "Survivor" across the pond, but if you do, you'll understand my cringing when the contestants have to eat something disgusting. Usually with eight or at least six legs.

I haven't watched 'Survivor', but I do know the premise. I'm not really sure I could survive, but if I had a few men to look out for me I may just be ok
Thanks for reading Russell, I appreciate it.

Eight human or eight spider legs ... there is no contest as far as I'm concerned ... but maybe I am being a bit greedy, I've asked Lu to join me!
Thanks for reading Dan, most appreciated.

me I'd be more scared of the men than a spider lol

Good rhyme and rhythm (of course)
The prompt says who or what would you take and why? me I'd want matches don't fancy eating raw fish but if I could I'd take Ray Meers the extreme survival expert and leave it all to him I doubt he'd be thrilled with me as a castaway companion though ...

I can manage most things Pat, but not spiders
But then I wouldn't have to if I have 4 great hulking men to look after me, now would I?

      Thanks for reading ... Sue
