I'm 'one of a kind',
as are all of you.
Every living thing,
brings a dream that's new,
to the universe,
to the cosmic mix,
for better or for worse,
no prophet's verse can fix.
Some of us are stars,
some are asteroids,
looking for a planet,
to inhabit or destroy,
as we fulfill our dreams,
mediocre, bad, or good,
even when we're born,
to do what angels should
In the cosmic stew,
made from molecules,
from primeval goo,
came forth - me and you,
to become a leaf,
on the tree of life,
children of the universe,
a smoking gun and knife.
