She Always.

She always wore
The same dress: red,
Coming just above
The knees, with thin
Straps over the shoulders
Revealing more than
The bright sun at dawn.

She always wondered
Why men stared, why
Their mouths hung open,
Why their eyes widened
Like broad horizons, why
They made gestures with
Their hands as if milking
A cow, why they watched
Her sit down as the dress
Rode her thighs, bringing
From them deep sighs.

She always gave
The same look, the why
Are you staring at me gaze,
The eyes blueberries in snow,
Her painted red lips tight
Together permitting no words,
Allowing no conversation,
No talk, just them watching
Her rise up and walking
Her walk, her neat red dress
Butt taking them into dreams
On their nightly bed and their
Heads on pillows and she always
Walking slowly away as she did today.
