Embedded in bright hues of adulation
are secrets summoned by the force of folly,
and memories bequeathed to finest will
believed to be the pasture of tomorrow.
Once we grazed on grass of finer times,
then, stared with broken smile at winter's gale.
When longed for pleasure pulled from our grasp,
our only hope was to let it go without regret.
October grins while colorful twirls paint grayish sky,
and musing from the best tests its aptitude.
Relying on phrases and lines from sated sense of being,
when times of love, and revelry are pleasantly sought.
Pictured in the perfect window of framing hearts;
as magic plays a violin, allowing lyrics to dance.
Encounters of this type swell to release souls,
with an unbridled savor of those wise and true.
My quest for mentorship has no need to end;
for commencement came in whispered tones,
told me uncommon tales of lifelong gallantry,
and I am glad to have stepped into his clever realm.

A beautifully written tribute of loving compassion for a fellow poet and mentor. Clearly, an affinity of kindred spirits.
Maybe a hyphenated "longed-for" in the 7th line, but that seems trivial considering the substance expressed.
