Sometimes I wonder
what else I can do
Sometimes I wonder
what's going on with you.
Sometimes in the morning
it strikes me rather hard
We're not getting any younger
We're not getting any better.
Sometimes I wonder
what you and I are gonna do.
Or does it even matter
if we take the greater view.
Now standing here in my wonder
looking out at the blue horizon
I can't help but think of me and you
wondering if you are wondering too.
Watching the cloudy sky evolving
Watching the gulls circling out at sea
Watching as the new coming ashore
with the waves, foam, and the weeds
Wondering if God will forgive us
for our carelessness and our childish deeds.

I can't quite grasp what deeds you are referring to and I'm guessing that was intentional. I can't help but to note the sadness between these lines
Emotions seep for sure through these heartfelt expressions. I hope contentment was or has been found
