Pity

Madam, I ask, are you certainly sane?
Allowing such sin and lasting blemish?
For onto this heart you have brought much pain
(A hook so neatly clipped into its fish)
Our house is being burnt at its true core
A daughter being sold with too much haste
She weeps, she needs much care I do implore
(For as a dish she would be such a waste)
You once remarked how well she glowed, a sun!
You once protected her from everything
You swore the damage soon could be undone
(Before you gifted your soul to your king)
And once you were a sister I adored
But now your heart is tainted evermore...

Author notes

Sonnet #2! I'm gonna try to write a bunch of these and get better.

From the Nurse's point of view in Romeo and Juliet, except pretend she is Lady Capulet's sister instead.

Hope you like it
