I look out the window,
as i make my way down the hall.
Small, chilly winds,
replace the snow that didn't fall.
i stop for a moment,
breathing in and out.
Hoping that I'll see grandma again,
thats what this christmas is all about.
i begged to Santa,
please, to bring me this one gift.
My hope grows stronger,
as my movements grow swift.
I run to the Christmas tree,
praying Santa answered my call.
But when i don't see her,
the tears begin to fall.
I drop to my knees,
declaring defeat.
Wondering why i can't see her again,
as i sit there and weep.
I've been begging and begging,
every Christmas eve.
The same result always,
oh why i even believe.

I love this poem, it's so sad. The loss of a grandparent is so tough to go through! Thanks for entering my contest and good luck!
