Lingering (I Want This Moment To Last Forever)

Haunting refrains of sage filled evenings
spent walking in the limelight of dusk falling.
Hand in hand, cross the broken ground,
lost in one another, oblivious to time.

No words spoken, yet thousand promises
of satisfying tomorrows passed between us.
Nature’s evening chorus softly enveloped as
the sun gave forth his final labored breathes.

Each measure of muted wonder, found itself
accented with the calling of one soul to another.
As light slipped away quietly leaving only faint
outlines, we gave thought only to one another’s form.

With fleeting shadows, we embraced one another,
our tongues finding a conversation all there own.
As muted sounds of desire emanated, our hands
began to clutch with fevered intensity.

Even now, I find myself possessed by
the lingering after effects. Though oft
contemplated, then I found myself
stirred beyond expectations.

I long to reside at this intersection of
Fulfillment and Reality. One whereby
the veracity of that moment finds itself
reconciled to the continuing passage of time.

      Haiku-Bless-You,

This was one that laid in the mind for almost three months before finding the completing verses. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks as always for your encouragement.
