the bastards

they'll stand there, highbrow
knowing they're wrong
uncaring

toes get stepped on
with religious fervor
screams are winked at
the bastards

oh how they decompose
right before one's very eyes
morality fades into buckets of puked innuendo

they slobber seemingly innocent phrases
but die a thousand deaths for their lies
and they manage to pocket the cash
from a billion unsuspecting souls

the bastards

brains melted into puddles of goo
wisdom of ages too aged now
smelling of year old opened limburger

Author notes

I belive in the decomposition of life.

Very powerfully expressed and a great interpretation of the prompt! Well Done for expressing the thoughts and for the form in which they are expressed. Good job poet!
