in every wrong place i see a right

i drank today

to a boxcar red and broken,

slow music, a sad fading

when the melody suffocates

and december makes you

someone else

i live inside

someone i don't recognize

seen more perfectly impure

when you break me from concrete

learning to slowly let go

removing sheets

from a single hotel bed

you won't let me be

who i used to be

and i will drink for tomorrow

its wildcard attraction

to leave autumn where it is

on a highway back

before leaves split color

while i lean a little lower

hear the reasons

made by a simple sun

love has its own technicolors

does it own us

do we own it too?

i forget the shade i painted you

Ya think?

I enjoyed this poem. You have such a wonderful poetic voice and it simply screams in this masterpiece. I found it quite emotional as you made me think you were feeling sorry for yourself then it changed to where you actually had pity on someone else. I don't know if that is what you were trying to portray but that's what it did to me. Bravo!

    Love,
    Amera

    great read

  • You painted an emotion here that we can all relate too. So many great descriptions. I drank today, alone was inspiring. The image of the red boxcar, broken, living inside someone you don't recognize...gah...you are lovely.
