In the twinkling of an eye
it was gone
all the I knew
all I remembered
Come to me again
the wind to wash over me
spilling the truth
Bring me to the place
I once lived
and show me my past
Let me fumble through
seeing all that might be
and all I wish to be
Set the day afire
with heat of their touch
and the tenderness
of the embrace I knew
Let me rest easy
in peace
and find the road home

Wow, well, well done. With free verse, the more imagery and descriptive language, the more I love it. I love phrases that are so powerful they are a well do deep they are fathomless.

Wonderful free verse
..of course this comes from a fellow rhymer as well..I have branched off this year to writing much more free verse and this is very good..sends a clear passionate message..wish you the best..

Not bad for your first time at free verse. This is one that can speak from the grave or the death bed. You my darling have a home, right here and I believe you know the way home.
Love and lust and all that I have to offer.
Your wife,
Joann
