Waking up to the smell of your skin
Like caffeine to jump start the morning
You lying still in the morning light
What a reminder that I am indeed alive
Watching you slowly realising where you are
Like hot chocolate slowly warming up my body
You open your eyes and you smiled that smile
Ninetieth day straight that I'm this lucky
Your soft and tender voice just woken
Like a kitten's purr while it snuggled closer
You greeted me with two small simple words
I leaned in to give you two long gentle kisses
You moved your hand and I feel revived
Like how the sun always sets and rises
Each time it happens is with lesser effort
There they were our interlaced fingers
The beautiful form of our interlaced fingers
Like an imperfectly perfect symmetry
The beautiful form of our interlaced fingers
You holding me tight while I'm holding you tighter
