Reach out and touch the sky;
with trembling fingers, but I'll
hold your hand, I'll help you to fly.
When the fear no longer lingers,
I'll let you go, for then we'll know
the future is ours, whether it's
to stay, or goodbye.
If you stay, we'll surround you
with love and relief, there'll be
no need to grieve and soon then
you'll see that if you just dream,
miracles can come true - for it
will have happened to you.
But, if God so chooses to take
your soul back to his side, I know
that our goodbye won't be forever -
because together, we reached out
and touched the sky. Together, through

Please God, let it be true, as it now
seems - that she'll conquer this quest,
and go on to conquer her dreams.

PROMPT;
2.) Pen me something celestial. It can be about anything in for to do with the sky, such as the clouds, stars, sun, moon or whatever. I will even accept things about heaven or your equivalent. As long as it has something to do with the sky it is all good.
Hope this is about sky/heaven enough for you. thanks for the inspiration; i'd reached a block in my writing, but tonight, reading that, "reach out to touch the sky" - it set the floodgates open.
If you need background information, my sister was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2009. Chemo didn't work. She's on a targeted therapy drug now. We don't know if it's working but we pray and hope with all our souls that,
"When the fear no longer lingers,
I'll let you go, for then we'll know
the future is ours, whether it's
to stay, or goodbye"
