It was getting close to prom time,
everyone knew what that meant,
for down at the local high school,
prom night was the pivotal event.
All the girls were buying dresses,
planning all things in advance,
hair and nails and make-up
must be perfect for this dance.
Now to be elected Prom Queen
was Sally Jane’s lifelong dream,
and she knew that it would happen
for she had the perfect scheme.
She’d discovered quite by accident,
in her favorite magazine,
a special kind of make-up,
a super magic cream.
It would make her more beautiful
than any other girl.
As she set about her planning,
her head was in a whirl.
She used it everyday
just as was directed,
so it was no surprise to her
when she found she’d been selected.
Prom night came, she was ready,
from her nails to her tresses,
wearing perfect shoes and
the best of all the dresses,
Then while she was dancing
just before she was crowned,
she noticed something happening
to her perfect evening gown.
It was disintegrating,
hanging limp upon her frame,
and her face felt warm and bubbly,
as her friends gasped her name.
She ran towards a mirror,
she was shocked and reviled,
she looked like something evil,
half-dead, and going wild.
All the kids were running from her
in terror and in fright,
for the cream had turned her into,
Zombie Prom Queen for the night.
