My whole life has been defined by my ability to defend myself
Because if i could not then who would when i was on my own?
The feeling of being weak, and defenseless
fueled self-doubt
And that was a pivoting point
As long as they think I will
Then perhaps i will be fine
I'm not strong
In fact
In all the years i've lived
I've been alone
despite those around me
Everyday is a mixture of sadness, longing, and teeth gritting necessity
I dont want to be feared or respected out of it!
But if i'm not seen as such I'm just as weak and spineless as any child.
and weakness is a phobia

i want you to know that life is beautiful, and that, for me atleast: strength is ignorable, just worry about what is amazing, do what you want to do, dont get in the way of other and have a good head on your shoulders.
but maybe it's different for you?
just dont hurt yourself, dont do anything youll regret, and dont be tricked.. :|
otherwise, life is amazing
and weekness becomes obsolete, it becomes a fictitious thing.

This poem shows some really deep emotions. You did a great job conveying your feelings. Trying to keep a wall up around oneself in order to not be hurt is a really tough job. I am sorry if this is how you feel, and if you have been hurt so much by those around you that you must act "tough" so that they cannot hurt you. It shouldn't ever be that way. Most people are afraid of me and if they arent always flinch and act like im going to hurt them. Im violent at times yes, and i usually dont mind being afraid of because it keeps the assholes away but im so tired of everyone acting like it.
